Broadcasting Division Opening Statement
Under section 7(1) of the European Parliamentary Elections Act, the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority has a statutory duty to draw up, and from time to time review and revise, a code setting the standards to be observed for programmes to be included in television and radio services in relation to European Parliamentary elections.
This code sets those standards and will regulate broadcasters of television and radio services in Gibraltar, including the Gibraltar Broadcasting Corporation (the “Corporation”) and British Forces Broadcasting Service (“BFBS”), in this regard.
