TELEPORT FACILITIES LICENCE

The Teleport Facility Licence authorises a licencee to establish and use specific Earth Stations for the purpose of providing a link between the Earth Stations and specific satellites through the use, from an identified location, of specific frequency bands.

Attached is the application form required for users to obtain a licence along with guidance notes.

VERY SMALL APERTURE TERMINALS (VSAT) LICENCE

VSAT, short for very small aperture terminal, is an earthbound station used in satellite communications of data, voice and video signals, excluding broadcast television. A VSAT consist of two parts, a transceiver that is placed outdoors in direct line of sight to the satellite and a device that is placed indoors to interface the transceiver with the end user\'s communications device

EARTH STATION LICENCE

An earth station or ground station is the surface-based (terrestrial) end of a communications link to an object in outer space. The space end of the link is occasionally referred to as a space station. A satellite earth station is a communications facility with a microwave radio transmitting and receiving antenna and required receiving and transmitting equipment for communicating with satellites (also known as space stations).

SATELLITE NEWS GATHERING TERMINAL (SNG) LICENCE

Satellite news gathering (SNG) is the use of mobile communications equipment for the purpose of worldwide newscasting. Mobile units are usually vans equipped with advanced, two-way audio and video transmitters and receivers, using dish antennas that can be aimed at geostationary satellites.
