RANSOMWARE INITIATIVE
The Gibraltar Regulatory Authority is a member of the Gibraltar Regulators Forum, which has this week launched a survey aimed at mitigating risks associated with the increasing global threat of ransomware attacks and establish the impact this has on Gibraltar. Ransomware is a type of malicious software designed to block access to a computer system or data, often by encrypting the data, until a sum of money is paid. These attacks can be devastating, causing significant disruption to businesses and personal lives, as well as leading to financial losses and potential breaches of sensitive information.
